A Treasure Hunt at Rite Choice Thrift Store

Rite Choice Thrift Store · 104 Gluck St Apt D, Youngstown, OH 44505, United States
Discount store

One of my favorite places to explore in Youngstown is the Rite Choice Thrift Store. It’s a place filled with stories, each item holding a piece of history. From antique furniture and lighting fixtures to vintage jewelry and tools, it's a treasure trove that never fails to intrigue me. The store may not be huge, but the wide variety of merchandise it holds makes it feel like a labyrinth of curiosities.

The shopkeeper, affectionately known as Tony in the local community, is as much a part of the appeal as the goods themselves. He's always friendly and welcoming, eager to share the tales behind the trinkets. His knowledge is extensive, and he's always willing to help you find that unique piece to add to your collection.

Whether I'm looking for a unique piece to add to my collection or simply seeking a few minutes of peaceful browsing, Rite Choice Thrift Store never disappoints. A Lifesaver in Disguise: Rent-A-Center

Rent-A-Center · 2625 Market St, Youngstown, OH 44507, United States
★★★★☆ · Furniture store

There’s a place in Youngstown that is a lifesaver in disguise; it's called Rent-A-Center. I have relied on Rent-A-Center for years now. From a computer to a love seat, and currently a sectional and a washer/dryer set, I've rented and eventually paid off a range of items over the years, each one enhancing my home and lifestyle.

One thing's for sure, the staff at Rent-A-Center are truly awesome. I've had a few issues over time, but most of them were promptly resolved. What impresses me most about this store is their commitment to service. Despite the pricing being a bit on the higher side (a Playstation 5 here costs over $2000 compared to $559 at Best Buy), the service and staff make it worthwhile.

There was this one time when I was out of town due to a family emergency and they patiently waited in my driveway for over an hour. Their understanding and patience in such a situation were commendable. I've also had them visit my place of employment to sort out issues, which I found to be extremely convenient.

In short, Rent-A-Center has been my go-to place for furniture and appliance rental in Youngstown. Despite the occasional hiccup, they've always managed to make the experience worthwhile with their service and staff. If you're in a pinch and need furniture or appliances quickly, I’d recommend giving Rent-A-Center a shot.

Indianola Furniture

Indianola Furniture · 1405 E Indianola Ave, Youngstown, OH 44502, United States
★★★★☆ · Used furniture store

After a good experience at Rent-A-Center, I decided to explore some more and found myself at Indianola Furniture. The store, found here on Google maps, is a treasure trove of furniture waiting to be discovered. It was like stepping into an Aladdin's cave, with every nook and cranny filled with furniture of all kinds. I was on the lookout for a recliner, but alas, they were out of them that day.

However, the absence of a recliner didn't dampen my spirits. The store had a plethora of other enticing pieces that had me hooked. A carved mahogany headboard and baseboard caught my eye, exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. The store was neatly organized despite the multitude of items, and I could see it being an ideal place for anyone looking to furnish their first apartment or a new home. The prices were reasonable and the variety was astounding.

The gentleman who helped me around the store, possibly the owner, was friendly and well-informed about the items in the store. His knowledge and passion for the furniture were evident, which made the browsing experience all the more enjoyable. Even though I didn't find the recliner I was looking for, the visit to Indianola Furniture was worth it. I plan to revisit the store regularly, keeping an eye out for any new pieces that might catch my fancy. The store left such an impression on me that I can see myself becoming a regular customer.

Yankee Trading Post

Yankee Trading Post · 3313 Mahoning Ave, Youngstown, OH 44509, United States
★★★★☆ · Thrift store

The thrill of the hunt has a whole new meaning at the Yankee Trading Post. This place is not just a store, but a journey through various epochs of furniture design. The first time I walked into the store, I immediately felt the diversity and richness of the collection. It was a treasure trove of mostly vintage and some modern pieces.

The prices were more than fair and the lady who was working that day was incredibly cordial. She was not just an employee, but a guide who walked me through the different eras represented in the store. Her knowledge about the furniture was impressive and she was extremely helpful. This personal touch made my shopping experience exceptional.

What struck me about the Yankee Trading Post was the quality of the pieces. I found some fantastic cherry bedroom sets, a gorgeous walnut dining room set, and a beautiful mahogany dining room set, all in excellent condition and reasonably priced. The store's owner also offers furniture restoration services, which I found to be a great advantage. On one occasion, I fell in love with a piece that needed minor repairs, and the owner gave me a quote for the work before I purchased it.

The Yankee Trading Post is much more than a used furniture store. It's a place where furniture gets a second chance and customers get to own unique pieces that tell a story. Every visit is a new adventure, and I can't wait for my next one.

★★★★☆ · Used furniture store

A stone's throw away from Economy Furniture is another gem, the Eclectic Furniture store. This place is a treasure trove for those who appreciate a mix of different styles and periods in their furniture. One Saturday, although the store was technically closed, I ran into the owner, John. A very kind gentleman, he allowed me to look around, and I was not disappointed. The collection is fascinating, with a plethora of truly unique pieces.

The store has an impressive selection of renowned brands like Drexel, Henredon, Pennsylvania House, Harden, and Ethan Allen. But what caught my eye were the French antiques and the wide array of other vintage furniture. I couldn't help but admire the fantastic cherry bedroom sets, the gorgeous walnut dining room set, and the beautiful mahogany dining room set.

What sets Eclectic Furniture apart is that the owner also runs a furniture restoration business. So, if you find a piece that needs a bit of TLC, he can give you a quote for any repairs before you buy. This service is gold for someone like me who loves restoring old furniture to its former glory.

Even though some items might seem a bit overpriced, trust me, the quality and uniqueness of these pieces make them well worth the investment. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece to add character to your space, you should definitely check out Eclectic Furniture.
